How to Win Duel Against Jan of Lesztin in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

The duel against Jan of Lesztin in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is ridiculously hard because Henry is not allowed to wear protective armor, and cannot even use a two-handed weapon. But, there is still a workaround in winning the fight against Jan, and I will walk you through the how part of it.

How to Win the Duel Against Jan of Lesztin in Ill Repute Quest

One of the objectives during the Ill Repute quest requires you to gain Tuchmacher’s support. But, Henry learns quickly that he needs to fight and win a duel against Jan to gain Tuchmacher’s support in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Before you go to the dueling ground, stop by the Weaponsmith in Kuttenberg and buy the Noble Hunting sword. This is a one-handed weapon, which is allowed in a duel against Jan.

If, for some reason, you do not have the required weapon, Jan will not initiate a duel, so make sure to buy this one before going forward with the quest.

Combat Technique

Now, during combat with Jan, make sure to play defensively against Jan as he will block your first attack and most likely counter the second. If you have been engaging in combat a lot up to this point in the game, then you must have unlocked the Masterstrike technique.

• Essentially, you need to use the Masterstrike technique to win the fight against Jan of Lesztin in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
• To trigger this skill attack, make sure to aim opposite from the opponent’s incoming strike.
  • For example, if Jan is about to strike you from the left, aim your sword to the right. When you see a green icon on the reticle, press the attack button, and Henry will deflect an incoming attack and then strike back, all in one go.

You can also use the Chat feature and press the Battlecry option to trigger a few perks that will eventually help in combat against Jan, provided you have them unlocked already. I had Battlecry II and Dreaded Warrior II perks activated during the combat.

Make sure to keep an eye out over Henry’s stamina bar. If it deplets, Jan will brute force the blocks and will finish the fight easily.

You need to keep doing this a few times, and Jan of Lesztin will surrender the fight, and that is how you win the duel against him and complete the gain Tuchmacher’s support quest objective in KCD2.
